What is wrong with these pictures? Well, they are the once beautiful triad of palm trees on the corner of Captain Nurse Circle and Bolling Drive in Novato, CA. Unfortunately, they are in serious maintenance neglect. There are several very dry palm fronds currently attached to all three palms and this presents an extremely high fire hazard for us here on Captain Nurse Circle. We can have these trees in our community as long as there are no dry fronds, according to our fire resistant plant list…
Now, I am making this an issue because it is just one example of what our HOA is not doing right about following our Vegetation Management and Fuel Modification Plan (see the entire document at this link):

I was talking to an Owner this evening, David Mills, who lives right next to these palm trees. He is very concerned about them and has asked our landscape maintenance company, Cagwin & Dorward to trim off the dry fronds. This is not happening! But, what is happening is a bunch of useless letters being sent to David from the HOA management about his security system and some chimes on his patio.
So, this means that the visit from Taylor Sharp (of Wakefield Sharp, our current property management company) on our street recently was meant to harass an Owner and not take care of the HOA landscape maintenance problems such as this dangerous palm tree situation. Since this is going on and on and not being addressed properly, I am making a formal complaint to our Novato Fire Marshal Bill Tyler and sending him these pictures. I hope this situation gets addressed in a quick and thorough manner. It has not been a priority obviously, but apparently chimes are….Here is the formal complaint:

Owners here in Meadow Park should always be receiving the most excellent customer service available such as what we receive all the time from our wonderful Novato Fire Protection District. Thank you again Fire Marshal Bill Tyler. We are so very happy you are here to protect us 24/7…
Update on 08/22/14:
I just received a second notice from A Total Fire Protection Company regarding the 5 year certification of our fire sprinkler systems… I hope that this can be followed up on quickly. It is a very reasonable bid of $125.00 per performance test. I have included the letter below and have the bid right here in my hands just waiting for the right person to sign, date, and send it back to them….
